The sales industry plays a valuable role for most other sectors. A strong sales workforce is instrumental for various businesses to find appropriate buyers for their goods or services, among different consumer categories, government bodies and business organisations. Tax cuts in recent years have led to greater disposable income in the hands of consumers, who will continue to boost the economy in terms of retail. This sector is typically divided into two broad areas: B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-customer). B2B implies functions such as packaging materials being sold to a shipping company, whereas B2C includes sale of healthcare insurance to a senior citizen by an insurance agent. Your job in sales may vary depending on the type of organization and the industry you work in. If you are a business development manager, you will be adept at monitoring and expanding new leads for networking and future collaboration. As a sales executive, you would be in charge of keeping the company profitable and contribute to the business team. In addition, team leaders function as the point of contact that keeps the interests of all parties, and remains separate from senior management.
