About University of New Hampshire at Manchester
UNH Manchester is one of the campuses of the University of New Hampshire. It is a public institute and an urban campus to the university which was founded in the year 1866. This campus, based in Manchester, New Hampshire was established in the year 1985 with the aim to also increase the physical outreach of the institute as part of its academic expansion.
University of New Hampshire at Manchester is the sixth campus to the University of New Hampshire and is on the mission to provide education embedded in active citizenship with focus on creative and impactful solutions and decision making. The university concentrates specifically on the STEM fields.
The campus does not only focus on academic development but also involves students in activities and programs which shape them into leaders, professionals, and dedicated community members. The students find to their interest 30+ student run clubs and organisations ranging from academic, sports, to arts and governing associations. There are programs and opportunities that teach the students leadership skills and also give them a chance to practice the skills in a real world environment. These include serving as Peer Assistant Leaders, Orientation Leaders, Mentors and Tutors. There are also programs for improving diversity and inclusion as well as inter cultural understanding. Not only are there activities but also formal training as well as programs that are aimed at increasing significance of diversity. For student academic support, the campus also offers Academic counselling helping students in maintaining their studies, to work on their skills and helping with goal achievement. There is also the Center for Academic Enrichment (CAE) which with its writing programs, tutoring, placement testing and other activities aims to improve student learning. There are also wellness activities such as fitness activities, sports, exercise classes and also athletics at NCAA. The official campus colors are Blue and White.
Academic programs consist of 33 Undergraduate programs and 12 graduate programs including Masters and Certificates. Its notable facilities are Pandora Mill and Currier Museum of Art.
