Medaille College Seal About Medaille College

Medaille College is a private non-denominational and co-educational college for liberal arts located in the Olmsted Crescent of Buffalo, New York. It was established in 1875 under the name of the Sisters of Saint Joseph with the aim of providing education to teachers. The name was changed in 1937 to Mount Saint Joseph College when it received a charter from the state. In 1968, the college finally got its current name. In 1991, Medaille established a resident student program. The college inaugurated a branch campus in 1994 which was named the Kevin I. Sullivan Campus Center which was known for Trbovich Alumni Tower. Medialle established its first residence hall in 2001 followed by the addition of a second hall in 2003. It started offering online programs for the first time in 2010. In the following, a construction project was completed that aimed at doubling the capacity of Huber Hall. In 2014, the college decided, due to financial difficulties, to close its Amherst Campus location and to move the students to the main campus.

Medialle campus offers several distinctive buildings and facilities as Lake Shore Behavioral Health Clinic, North and South Residence Halls, Huber Hall, Downey Science Building and Kevin I. Sullivan Campus Center. Additionally, the college has a branch campus in Rochester, New York. The official colors of the college are navy, gold and light blue. Its athletic teams, who are nicknamed Mavericks, compete in NCAA Division III as members of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

The college offers 6 different academic programs that grant bachelor, master’s and associate degrees in addition to advanced certificates. The university is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education with a charter from the University of the State of New York. The university offers a variety of scholarships and financial aid programs that may provide financial support to enrolled students.
