What’s your background and goals overall?
So at the time I started Preppy’s medical assistant course, I had just graduated from a small boarding high school and was transitioning to attend Simmons University in Boston, where I declared my neuroscience major and committed to pre med track.
My goal has always been to become a neurologist, which has been driven by my desire to help people struggling with mental issues that are difficult to pinpoint, to gain clinical experience, and ensure that I was making the right decision. I knew I needed a starting point in healthcare.
What type of Medical Assistant Program Were You Looking For, and Why Did you Choose Preppy?
I had been looking for medical assistant courses for around a month during my college process and during the beginning of summer, and the main reason why a lot of the courses didn’t align for me was the scheduling. I was just about to start college and I knew that I needed time to adjust. I needed a flexible schedule that would allow me to adjust to college, that would allow me to take as much time needed, and Preppy was the right course for me as all the other courses were more expensive and required a specific time structure and scheduling structure that I couldn’t do.
What are the Pros of Preppy’s Program?
The top three things I loved about Preppy are:
The structure of the course. The curriculum was clear and easy to follow and made it simple to understand what each topic entailed and how to effectively prepare and study for it.
The flexibility of time. One aspect of Preppy that immediately caught my attention was how quickly you could complete the course, but due to my summer job at the time and adjusting to the demands of college life as a pre med student, it made my schedule more limited and I found it very challenging to find time for this course. But thankfully, due to the support team, I was able to get an extension, which allowed me to finish the last part of this course and complete the program at my own pace, the quick process after course completion.
How is Preppy’s Externship Process?
After finishing the course, I was quickly contacted for my externship, which made me feel supported and motivated to continue. I’m excited to move forward in the healthcare journey and I’m confident in my abilities to succeed in the externship and pass the final exam.
Did Preppy Prepare You for the CCMA Certification Exam?
Preppy prepared me for the medical assistant certification exam by breaking down the material into several focus sections. Being a medical assistant, EKG tech, and phlebotomy tech requires a wide range of skills, but Preppy made it manageable by dedicating specific presentations to each skill. This allowed me to fully focus on every single detail that involves each profession, and they also had various quizzes throughout each whole section after three to five skills, which helped reinforce my knowledge of the profession.
Do You Feel Preppy Prepared You For the Medical Assistant Career and Clinical Readiness?
This approach allowed me to take my time and master each and every part of the job while ensuring I could apply what I learned step by step. It kept me on track and prevented me from feeling overwhelmed by too much information all at once. By the time I completed each section, I felt confident in my understanding of the skills required for the job, which ultimately made me feel well prepared for the exam.
Who Would You Recommend to? Bottomline:
I would recommend Preppy to anyone who has a busy 9 to 5, either is going to school, either is working, but knows they want to advance to a next level in their career or in the trajectory.
How Was Preppy’s Student Support?
Thank you, Preppy, for all the customer support that you have given me throughout this whole year. I feel very well knowledged on becoming a medical assistant, and I feel fortunate enough that I was able to have this experience while still attending college and having full time classes.
