Job Description

The following responsibilities are common for Hypnotherapists:

  • Induces a hypnotic state in a client using individualized methods and techniques of hypnosis to alter certain behaviors
  • Prepares client before inducing a hypnotic state by explaining the procedure and helping them feel relaxed and willing participants
  • Tests client to determine the degree of suggestibility
  • Assists the client, using individualized methods, with various behavior changes within the subconscious to help them with their conscious behaviors
  • May also assist client with self-hypnosis methods as well

A Day In The Life

Hypnotherapists work with clients to help them heal and treat various behavior and medical issues.  They are trained professionals that work with clients to help them cope with physical or mental pain, chemical dependencies and addictions and obsessive behaviors, just to name a few.  These individuals use hypnosis to heal their clients, not only is it just entertainment, it is also a legitimate medical treatment method.

Before hypnotizing a client, they will first discuss the clients issues and goals in great detail.  During this consultation, they will also discuss what exactly hypnosis is and what it entails.  Then, based on the clients suggestibility and the nature of the clients issue and goals, they will then induce a hypnotic state using various individualized methods.
