University of Wisconsin-Parkside is a public university that is part of the University of Wisconsin System and was founded early on in the year 1965 through an act of legislature. In the year 1971 it became part of the University of Wisconsin System and never looked back on its progress as an institute for educational and academic development.

It is based in Somers, Wisconsin and is also known as UW-Parkside. The university has since beginning prepared students for more than just academic pursuits, encouraging them for creativity and critical thinking and preparing them as responsive and responsible leaders for both local and global communities.

The campus life at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside is full of opportunities which enhance learning of its students by providing them with a practical, real world exposure. The students actively take part in representing their interests through the Parkside Student Government (PSG) which serves as a great platform for leadership activities and experiences. There are also other leadership programs offered at the university such as working as the campus ambassador or the Peer Advisor or getting a leadership certification etc. Then there are also more than 70 student run organisations which provide social opportunities and friendly spaces for learning skills. The students are further facilitated in their academic and learning pursuits through the provision of internship opportunities, study abroad opportunities or participation in the community based learning projects. The university also indulges its students in public space and service through volunteer programs and activities having more than 100 partner agencies and organisations. The campus also offers sports and activities center for fitness and physical development, along with intramurals. The university also its athletic teams that participate at NCAA Division II; its teams are called ‘Rangers’ and its official colors are Green and Black.

Its academic programs include more than 30 undergraduate programs (majors and minors) and graduate level programs. Its notable facilities include Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities, Wyllie Hall, Greenquist Hall, Molinaro Hall and a few more.
