Cobleskill is a public higher education institute in the field of technology and agriculture and which traces its beginning to year 1911 to when it was established through charter as Schoharie State School of Agriculture. With gradual development at its start, the college soon made progress from year 1947 onwards. The college also expanded rapidly by adding more physical structures. It was in year 1987 that the college awarded its first Bachelors degree.

Based in Cobleskill, New York the SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill has always been consistent in its tradition of providing transformational learning experience in a global context. The students are trained for professional success as well as improved quality of life.

At Cobleskill, learning happens both inside and outside classrooms with the campus having plenty of experiential learning platforms. The student life begins with two most important organisations working in student interests. There is Student Government Association which represents and reports student problems and the Council for Student Activities which regulates student life by supporting student activities and events. In addition to these, students also find more than 40 other student run clubs which result in active engagement, provides learning and helps students to socialise. Student life also consists of community engagement where student participate in activities working for the welfare of off campus communities. Students volunteer for animal support, blood drives, disaster relief, Earth Day Celebration as well as working in long term positions with community engagement organisations. Entertainment for the students comes in the form of events such as comedy shows, movie screenings, games and recreation, Homecoming, Spring Fling and many others happening all year round. There is also athletic participation by the students at NCAA Division III. The campus colors are Orange and Black and the mascot is ‘Fighting Tigers’.

As for the academic programs at the Cobleskill, these consist of 31 Associate degree programs and 21 Bachelor’s. The notable facilities on campus are Grosvenor Art Gallery, Ten Eyck Hall, Davis Hall, Van Wagenen Library, Holmes Hall, Wheeler building, Warner building and others.
