Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico-Miami About Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico-Miami

PUPR is a private and non profit higher education and coeducation institute in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The present day university traces its history to year 1966 when it was founded to offer specialised education in the field of Land Surveying and Mapping. As the programs at the institute gained success, it improved by starting to award Bachelor degrees.

By 1998 the institute had also started awarding Master’s degrees. It also extended its physical outreach by adding two campuses; in Miami, Florida and in Orlando, Florida. At its campus in Miami, the university offers quality education to a diverse set of students, exposing them to technological, intellectual, and scientific and research developments happening on a global scale.

For the students at Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico-Miami, a range of resources and opportunities exist helping them with their academic and non academic learning endeavours. To better help its student stay on track while their time at the university, the campus offers academic as well as personal advice and guidance, helping students improve their choices and reaffirm their decisions. For increasing exposure of its students, the campus offers internship and mentor programs which help in students gaining needful experience even before they have entered the professional world. Mentorship is provided through personal sessions and also through forums, by professionals and leaders alike. It also prepares the students for their career choices and in securing the right jobs through Career Services offered on campus. There are also a range of extracurricular activities present on the campus; students enjoy and learn through workshops, seminars, colloquium and the opportunity to interact with important public and community figures. Events which open up window for career opportunities and academic achievement are also held.

At the PUPR Miami campus, the academic programs offered consist of four Bachelors degree programs and two Master’s degree programs in the fields of management, business, computer science and engineering.
