Platt College- San Diego About Platt College- San Diego

Platt is a private higher education institute that was founded in year 1879. It initially began in St. Joseph, Missouri and as it found success, over the century, in its educational program it decided to open another campus in San Diego, California by 1980. This new campus soon found itself adding programs and it was then by 1985 that it separated from its parent institute.

Since its separation, the college has added a range of programs to its academic curriculum including design, animation, media arts and others. It has been accredited by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and has become a place nurturing talent and promoting creative development of its students.

At the campus of Platt College, the students find many opportunities that not just develop the students for their professional success but also for self achievement and growth in a supportive, student centric environment. The education at the college is skill focused and happens both inside and outside classroom. With small classes, students find a higher level of interaction and knowledge exchange with their students, providing edge to the college education. Not just this, but the students are also prepared for their future through the office of Career Services. With this, the students are better aligned between their chosen field and their academic goals. The career preparation takes place through five step activity – Day One Program, Ongoing Goal Development, Resume Workshops, Portfolio Development and Interview Preparation. It also helps develop alumni network and connect students with potential employers. The college also holds workshops and speaking sessions by guests and alumni sharing practical experiences. Besides, students also find extracurricular activity at the college which includes cultural activities, art and media exhibitions, community engagement, field trips and many other events.

As for the academic programs at Platt, these consist of two Associate degree programs, three Bachelors degree programs, and professional development programs. It also offers non-credit courses.
