About Platt College- Colorado
Platt is a private higher education institute that was founded in year 1980 and began as an institute in San Diego. As this institute gained prominence and progress, it extended its physical outreach through an extension campus founded in Denver by 1986. It was founded by Jerald B. Sirbu and marked further progress for the college as it added more to its academic curriculum.
It added its first associate degree in 1991 and its bachelor’s degree in 1997. It did not stop there but added a School of Nursing in 2005 and by 2013, achieved an important milestone when it started offering its nursing courses through online education. With its long experience in education, the college has emerged as a leader in academics, teaching, intellectual growth and scholarship. Presently, the college is based in Aurora, Colorado.
Being a small college, Platt College offers every advantage for experiencing education through personal interaction and exchange of knowledge with the faculty members trained and expert in their fields. The students find every opportunity for free flow of knowledge and ideas. At the campus, the students find support for learning both inside and outside their academic fields. The campus community offers groups as well as committees which are responsible for bringing programs and maintaining an active life on the campus. The college has also maintained its contacts with ten regional hospitals which has brought practical exposure of the medical field through exchange of knowledge and experience during the study period. To further support its students for practical exposure in their medical fields, there are community service programs for the nursing students where they put in volunteer hours in serving the community. These mainly take part in public school system through short medical activities such as blood drives, flu shot clinics, working in safe shelters or holding vision or hearing screenings.
As for academic programs offered at Platt, these include courses in nursing and liberal arts and sciences including a Bachelor in Nursing program. It also offers some of its courses online.
