Pillar College Seal About Pillar College

Pillar College is a private evangelical Christian higher education institute located in Newark, New Jersey. The college was established in 2001 by the Pillar of Fire Church which is currently known as Pillar of Fire International. It was initially named Somerset Christian College and aimed at providing training and education to missionaries, preachers, and teachers. The college operates in the former campus of Zarephath Bible Institute and Alma White College which were both established by the same parent organization. In 2001, the college received its charter from the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education to offer 2-year associate degree programs. The college got approval 5 years later to offer 4-year bachelor degree programs. In 2013, the name of the college was changed to the current name.

The college states that they believe in one Church universal following the ancient Apostles’ Creed. The college main campus is located in Park Place in Newark City, New Jersey. It also operates 3 extension sites in Somerset and Paterson, New Jersey in addition to Miami, Florida. The official mascot of the college is the Panther while its official colors are red, black and white.

The college offers academic programs in 5 academic areas. The college also offers a special program called the Life Enhancing Accelerated Degree abbreviated as LEAD. Pillar has several ministry partners including Star 99.1, Urban Impact, Zarephath Christian Church, Victory Sports Camps and Autumn Blaze. The college is accredited by Middle States Commission on Higher Education and Association for Biblical Higher Education.
