Maranatha Baptist University Seal About Maranatha Baptist University

Maranatha Baptist University is a Baptist university located in Watertown, Wisconsin. The university was established in 1968 by Dr. B. Myron Cedarholm who was a member of the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship International. It got its charter from the State of Wisconsin in the same year. It was initially named Maranatha College till it changed its name to the current one in 2013. Scott Walker who was a candidate for the United States 2016 presidential elections delivered a speech at the university chapel in 2015.

Maranatha states its mission is to prepare leaders that can serve the community locally and internationally. Its campus covers 79 acres offering several distinctive buildings and facilities. Among these buildings is the Old Main which was established in four phases between 1873 and 1894 to host Sacred Heart College before being purchased by B. Myron Cedarholm in 1968. Other distinctive buildings on campus include Cedarholm Library and Hanneman Hall. The official colors of the university are blue and gold while its mascot is called the Sabercats. Its athletic teams compete in NCCAA Division II and NCAA Division III.

The university is divided into 5 colleges and schools in addition to 3 academic departments. Additionally, there is also the seminary and online degree programs. The university offers 33 bachelor degree programs, 6 associate degree programs in 28 minors and concentrations. It also offers 9 graduate degree programs. It is accredited under the Academic Quality Improvement Program of the Higher Learning Commission.
