Keuka College Seal About Keuka College

Keuka College is a liberal arts coeducational college that offers experiential education. It was founded in 1890 by George Harvey Ball as an institute for men. It is located in the Keuka Park on the shores of Keuka River in Finger Lakes region, New York. The college suspended active instruction in 1915 due to financial difficulties and instruction was resumed six years later. In 1924, the college established two prominent buildings; Hegeman Hall and Richardson Hall. The latter was renamed later to Harrington Hall. The college expanded its nursing program during the World War II to provide professional trained nurses. In 1942, the college founded the Field Period Program which is a major part of the college curriculum. Students enrolled in this program are required to spend one month or 160 hours in self-directed learning experience as community service or internship.

The college main campus covers 288 acres offering distinctive facilities to the students as Saunders hall, Davis hall, Harrington hall, Ball hall, Blyley hall and Space hall in addition to Ball Memorial Hall which is the oldest academic building on campus. Moreover, the campus contains the Lightner Library which hosts the Robert S. & Rebecca Bannan Aben. The college also operates two branch campuses which are called Onondaga Community College and Corning Community College in addition to partnerships with more than 40 colleges, hospitals and businesses.

The college offers 31 undergraduate programs with 27 minors in addition to 7 master’s programs.  There are also 8 pre-professional programs. Keuka also offers Accelerated Studies for Adults Program (ASAP) in addition to online programs. It is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools in addition to several other organizations that provide accreditation to specific programs. The college has several specialized research and academic support centers as the Center for Aquatic Research, Center for Experiential Learning and Center for Global Education.
