About Hodges University
Hodges University is a private non-profit higher education institute in Naples, Florida. The university was established in 1990 under the name of International College. Two years later, the college inaugurated an additional campus in Fort Myers. The college was renamed in 2007 to its current name in honor of Earl and Thelma Hodges who were the main supporters of the college. The new name also shows the expansion of the student body and the increased diversity of the programs offered granting it the university status.
The university states its mission is to offer transformational, learner-driven educational opportunities. The college declares 4 main core values which are Excellence, Inclusion, Integrity and Respect.
The main campus covers around 37 acres offering several facilities to the students including Terry P. McMahan Library. There are several centers and institutes at the university including Center for Diversity, Inclusion and Cultural Competency, Center for Nonprofit Excellence, Dr. Peter Thomas Veterans Services Center, Frances Pew Hayes Center for Lifelong Learning, Hispanic Institute and Identity Fraud Institute.
The university is divided into 5 schools including Fisher School of Technology, Johnson School of Business and Nichols School of Professional Studies. It offers 18 study programs with 19 minors granting Bachelor of Science and Associate of Science degrees. There are also 5 certificate programs as well as continuing education and online programs. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in addition to specialized accreditation to specific programs. Around 60% of the students are full time while the remaining are part time. Studying at the college cost around $3,000 per semester. There are 26 scholarship programs that may provide financial support to enrolled students.
