Expression College for Digital Arts known as SAE Expression College was established as a profit institute by the sound recording engineer “Gary Platt” and the Deutsch media artist “Eckart Wintzen” in Emeryville, California. SAE Expression College opened the admission for the first class on 9th of September, 1998, when it was accredited temporarily from the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE) to operate as Expression Center for New Media. The first two inaugurated programs were Sound Arts and Digital Visual Media. Expression was allowed twice again to renew its approvals to operate in January 2001 and October 2005. It changed its name from Expression Center for New Media into Expression College for Digital Arts in 2004. Expression main campus in Emeryville is established on more than 102,000 square feet. It consists of two buildings that involve administrative & faculty offices, faculty & student lounges, classrooms and laboratories. In addition to Emeryville main campus, Expression has more 8 campuses located in different 6 states which are Georgia (Atlanta City), Illinois (Chicago City), California (Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Jose Cities), Florida (Miami City), Tennessee (Nashville City), and New York.

SAE Expression College’s mission is to prepare innovative media professionals for the entertainment market. It offers academic programs to the students based on industry criterion that reflects the real needs in the media field.

SAE Expression College differs from other educational institutes in that it starts a class every eight weeks. The college consists of several diverse clubs and networks that cover different interests of students. Classes capacity in the college usually range from 10 up to 35 students with a maximum capacity of only 50 students.

Expression offers 5 bachelor degrees in Applied Sciences with concentrations of different media technology. It is distinguished in offering accelerated bachelor degrees that could be accomplished in only 36 months (Two and half of academic years).
