EDP University of Puerto Rico Inc About EDP University of Puerto Rico Inc

EDP is a private higher education institute that began in year 1968. It was founded by Aníbal Nieves and Gladys Vázquez, two engineers who designed the courses in the field of data processing, in response to the higher demand in the region. It initially started as an institute providing post secondary education and with success in its program offerings, it soon progressed.

It was in 2005 that it received accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), the first private institute to secure it. It is based in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico and seeks to become a leader in providing quality education, enabling intellectual exchange and innovativeness in the way its students learn and apply knowledge.

At EDP University of Puerto Rico Inc., the students are provided with a non traditional form of learning and educational exercises that result in development of practical skills in each of its students. For this, the university resources are employed to provide unequivocal support to students as they progress in their academic journey. Students are offered counselling in all matters, personal or academic. For anyone finding any obstacle while their time at the university, this helps students relax, manage stress and improve their productivity. There is also a Resource Center for Information present on campus that provides a huge pool of resources, material and information helping students in their education. Students are also prepared for their future course beforehand, during their studies at the university. The Career Services department provides job fairs, helps in job search and helps make links in the professional world. It also helps students to prepare for interviews and improve chances at securing jobs and opportunities. This ensures a successful start for the students as they graduate. Additional services at the institute consist of KIDS @ EDP which is a care center for children for those studying at the university.

The academic programs offered at EDP consist of 12 Associate degree programs, 10 Bachelors degree programs and seven Masters degree programs. There are also five certificate programs offered.
