Davis College About Davis College

Davis is a private Bible college that originally began as Bible classes in Lestershire. The classes were an initiative by John A. Davis, an evangelist who gained his education at Chicago Bible Institute. It was these classes that later took shape of an institute and transformed into Practical Bible Training School in 1900. By 1906 the school adopted a two year curriculum and, a three year curriculum by 1912. It was in 1993 that the college started awarding four year Bachelors degree.

It came to be known as Davis College in the year 2004 and is based in Johnson City, New York. The college understanding the skills required to serve in Church and serve as leaders, trains its students to step beyond their potential, by empowering them with knowledge and expertise to fit the roles.

The campus life at Davis is strictly committed to growth and development of its students for the responsibilities and duty of service that they embark on even before their completion of studies. To further Christian values into the lives of its students, spirituality and faith are not just studied; they are also practiced. Students find themselves involved with each other in learning through weekly Chapel sessions. Students could come in groups or find time to reflect on their selves, through prayer and worship. The campus also invites guest speakers for lectures and students also get involved in group Bible studies. Furthermore, there is also the student ministry which serves as mentor for students, taking active part in their spiritual and academic journeys. The ministry is also responsible for arranging various student activities such as mission trips, camp ministries as well as volunteering work for its students as part of community service work. Taking care of the physical fitness of its students, there is wellness center and also student workers supervising the progress. There are also athletic association at USCAA.

The academic programs at the college consist of Bachelors and Associate degree programs. It also offers three year diploma and a certificate program. Its notable buildings are Patterson Hall, Chatlos-Davis Hall and Chatlos Library.
