Centro de Estudios Multidisciplinarios About Centro de Estudios Multidisciplinarios

CEM is a private institute that was founded in 1980. The institute was founded to serve for the educational needs in the field of health care. With lack of health care education on the island, it was realized that an institute providing education tailored to the needs of the region and the people would not only help prepare high quality professionals but also contribute to the community in meeting the healthcare needs. The institute has been accredited by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) for its curriculum.

It is located in San Juan in Puerto Rico and has since its founding been involved in preparing students for a lifelong learning experience and a head start in the career and profession of their choice. Being in the field of health care, Centro de Estudios Multidisciplinarios realizes the responsibility of producing morally sound professionals and citizens.

For students, life at CEM is all about being trained for the field they have chosen. With practical training an important skills set, the students are facilitated and enjoined in their journey by the faculty as the two interact over a more active leaning platform provided at the institute. Education at the university is accompanied with humanistic value development understanding the nature of the field of health care which has patient centric and patient value approach at the center of it. The institute covers the entire journey of its students, and which does not end with graduation. Through its Placement Office, the institute prepares its students for jobs and for a head start in their careers by helping them to get through interviews, to prepare CV, cover letters and applications.

Academic programs offered at CEM consist of Associate degree programs under four fields of study, Technical programs in four fields and Bachelors degree programs in the field of Nursing Science. The institute has three other branch campuses besides San Juan; in Humacao, Bayamón and Mayagüez.
