About California State University-Stanislaus
CSU Stanislaus is a public university today that started back in 1957. It was established by the California state legislature. It wasn’t until 1960 that the instructions were held with the institute and another five years, till the institute got to move to its permanent campus, in 1965. Its transition from a college to a university happened in 1985 and the institute was renamed officially on its present name.
California State University-Stanislaus was the fifteenth institute to be added to the CSU System. Even after its transition as a university, the institute continued to expand. Today, it has become the institute which works to bring positive change and growth in its students intellectual and social experiences, making them better responsive towards increasing complexities and challenges.
Based in Turlock, California, the student experience at CSU Stanislaus consists of opportunities involving students with each other as well as into their interests. The university has more than 75 student run groups and clubs of various interests and also Greek Life for those interested. It also brings New Student Orientation (NSO) which brings students closer to faculty as they make their first entrance in the college. Common to CSU System universities, there is Associated Students Inc which brings activities for development of leadership skills through workshops and opportunities for community service through serving the children and youth of the community. There is a growing arts culture at the campus where students enjoy creative expression through art gallery exhibitions or musical or theatre performances. There are also campus recreation opportunities such as intramurals and sports and not to forget the athletics. The university’s teams ‘Warriors’ take part in NCAA Division II. Its campus colors are Red and Gold and its mascot is the ‘Tituts’.
The academic programs at CSU Stanislaus consists of 42 undergraduate majors, 17 undergraduate minors, 23 master’s programs, one doctoral program, and seven teaching credential programs. Its notable facilities include Nora and Hashem Naraghi Hall of Science, John Stuart Rogers Faculty Development Center and others.
