About Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design
RMCAD is a private arts and design institute that was founded by Philip J. Steele, an illustrator and an educator. With the aim of developing programs and courses in the discipline of arts on the traditional practice of drawing and painting, Steele established this institute in year 1963. What started as a simple program soon saw expansion into other field of creative disciplines, with the campus also expanding to a significant level.
Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design is based in Lakewood, Colorado. With its programs accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the college has always been on the mission of training its pupils to be creative as well as committed and responsive to global problem through innovative solutions.
Student life at RMCAD is a balanced mix of academic and extracurricular activities with the only highlight of thinking outside the box. There are a range of activities where students get to learn even beyond the classrooms; these include the student run clubs and organisations, where students learn in a friendly environment with their peers. These are supported by the Student Government Association which is the student representation on campus. There are also the Student Ambassadors which work as student representation and are involved in organising cultural, entertainment and recreational activities around the campus. Some activities and events at the campus include bowling parties, movies nights, cultural celebrations, arts performances, and others. Students are also involved in volunteering work around the community. Additional student support exists in the form of academic advising as well as personal counselling where students get the support and assistance which helps them stay focus on their goals and improve their academic performance. There is also Career Services which helps students connect their academic choices with their career goals and also helps them in achieving those goals through internships, workshops and also assisting them with interviews and resume building. The official campus color is Orange.
The academic programs offered at RMCAD are 17 Bachelors degree programs, a Masters degree program and six certificate programs. These consist of programs offered both on campus and online.
