Rider University About Rider University

Rider is a private higher education institute that has its roots in The Trenton Business College which was founded in 1865 by Henry Beadman Bryant and Henry D. Stratton. It started as an all-male institute but opened its doors to women in 1896. With further improvement, it evolved into a business college and then later into a college due to its academic expansion.

It was made into a university in 1994. Based in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, the institute maintains its vision of parting knowledge and working for the success of its students and the progress of societies through engaged learning and challenging conventional ideas.

With a community like feel, at Rider University the students find themselves involved in activities, inside and outside of the classrooms, aimed at increasing awareness and greater involvement around the campus. There are more than a hundred student-run organizations. Students find a huge range of interests and benefit from making friendships and developing lasting connections. Organizations such as government and organizing committees are further aimed at growth and leadership among students by representing student interests and organizing events. Students also enjoy arts and cultural activities aimed at inclusion and celebration of diversity. Through theatre, dance, music, visual arts, and other expressions, students bring ideas to life. Community engagement and service is another important aspect and students take part in events such as Survivor/Caregiver Dinner, Martin Luther King Day of Service and others. There are university traditions and events that are celebrated all year round and are a source of fun for the students. These include Celebration of Lights, Eggscellent Egg Hunt, Relay for Life, Rock Fest, Lip Sync Battle and many more. Students are also provided with health and wellness services and facilities. There are also athletic teams competing at NCAA Division I; the teams are called Broncs, and the official campus colors are Cranberry and White.

The academic programs offered consist of 71 undergraduate, 28 graduate degree programs and 27 certification programs. Its notable facilities are Moore Library, Talbott Library, Hillman Performing Arts Center and Bart Luedeke Center Theater.
