Madison Media Institute About Madison Media Institute

Madison Media Institute is a private for-profit college for Media Arts. The institute was established in 1969 by Ray Szmanda as Trans-American School of Broadcasting. It offered programs focusing on radio broadcasting. The institute was owned by Ray Szmanda since its establishment till 1986 when it was sold to Ed Hutchings. In 2007, the Hutchings family sold the college to a New York company called American Higher Education Development Corporation. In 2009, the college established a branch campus in Edina, Minnesota in the historic Flyte Tyme recording studios. The studios were formerly owned by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The college expanded from being a music production school to offering programs in animation, graphic design, mobile app development, and business.

The college main campus is located in Madison, Wisconsin with a branch campus in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Madison Media offers 6 programs for periods between 7 – 10 months granting associate degrees. It is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology.
