About Hope International University
Hope International University (HIU) is a private Christian university that was founded in 1928 under the name of Pacific Bible Seminary. In 1962, it was renamed Pacific Christian College directly after it moved to Long Beach, California. In 1997 the college achieved university status and got its current name. Four years later, the university was expanded to five colleges instead of just two colleges, each lead by a college dean. In early 2015, HIU signed a memo of understanding with Nebraska Christian College to explore the prospect of a partnership between the two venerable bodies of Christian higher education, and they did merge in 2016. Hope is a non-denominational university, however it is strongly linked to the Christian churches and churches of Christ and the Restoration Movement. It is now located in Fullerton, just south of California State University, California.
Hope operates in its main campus in North Orange County, in the city of Fullerton, California. It offers various facilities to the students as the Titans theater. Additionally, the university operates The NCC campus in Papillion, آNebraska covering more than 80 acres. The college also operates Anaheim Education Center and Everett Washington Education Center which offers online programs. The university athletics teams are nicknamed Royals and they are member of NAIA and GSAC. The official campus colors are blue, grey, and white.
HIU consists of five colleges, each headed by a college dean. The university offers both on-campus and online programs. It was accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) in 1969. Two decades later, the university became affiliated to the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities in 1993. In 2006, it was also authorized by the Association for Biblical Higher Education.
