Five Towns College (FTC) is the most tolerable private educational institute at Dix Hill in Long Islands and the sole one in Suffolk County, New York. FTC was first established in 1972 as a business school by Lorraine Kleinman Cohen and Stanley G. Cohen. It was named after an area called “The Five Towns” in Lawrence in southwestern Nassau County, New York, where it was first suggested to be founded. However, it was actually founded in Merrick, New York. FTC expanded to include more concentrations in Business Management related to the media field such as  Audio Recording Technology, Mass Communications, Music Performance (Film and Video), Music Business, Jazz & Commercial Music, Music Education and Theatre Arts. FTC changed its location to Seaford, New York, then to its current location in Dix Hills in Suffolk County, New York in 1982 and 1992 respectively. Being located in the Half Hollow Hills of Long Island of Dix Hills, Suffolk County, it possesses a distinctive location that is only 1 hour away from New York, the focal point of media and entertainment industry.

FTC regulates an outstanding learning environment that encourages students to achieve high standards of ethics, mental abilities and society aspects. IT offers a specific environment of learning dedicated to praise the entertainment industry including arts, business, media and music.

The college offers a distinguished academic curricula in which educational programs and practical expertise are merged together to provide students and faculty with a creative community to foster building up talents, creativity and diversity.

FTC offers 9 undergraduate degrees with diverse concentrations related to the media business and industry. In addition it offers 3 master’s degrees and a 1 doctoral degree.
