Everglades University About Everglades University

Everglades University (EU) is a non-profit private university that was established in 1998 in Florida. It was initially called the American Flyers College till it was purchased in 1998 by Arthur and Belinda Keiser changing its name to Everglades College. Two years later, the owners of the university established Everglades University Incorporation as a non-profit organization based in Florida. The university expanded in 2002 by purchasing Keiser University which was for-profit organization converting it to a non-profit university.

EU main campus is located in the City of Boca Raton having 35000-square feet building. The university has also three branches in the cities of Sarasota, Orlando and Tampa. The latter, although not considered the main campus, is the largest of the four having a 66000-square feet building. Each of the four buildings contains classrooms, offices, a library and student lounges. In support for green energy usage, Sarasota campus implemented a system for solar energy production. There is a website dedicated to monitoring the efficiency and output of this system.

In 2016, EU was ranked 32nd in the Regional Colleges South ranking by US news & reports which was later removed as the university declared that it has submitted incorrect data. However, the university received several awards including women’s choice award for America’s Best Colleges, Military Advanced Education award for top universities and colleges and the Best Schools Award for best online colleges.

Everglade University is a member of ICUF colleges. It is accredited by SACSCOC association. The university offers 11 undergraduate and 4 graduate programs granting Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees. All programs are offered on-campus and online. Everglade has Military Benefits Center that aims at improving the educational experience and overcoming difficulties facing military students to help them complete their degrees.
