About Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Prescott
Embry-Riddle Prescott is a private residential institute for higher education and part of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The parent university was founded by Talton Higbee Embry and John Paul Riddle. In 1925, Embry-Riddle Company was founded and the next year, in 1926 the institute was established as Embry-Riddle School of Aviation.
The university’s Prescott, Arizona campus was founded in 1978 and has another campus in Daytona Beach, Florida. With its specialization in providing education in the fields of aerospace and aviation, the university has risen to offer equally high quality education in other fields preparing its students for professional success.
At Embry-Riddle, extracurricular activities and participation in learning opportunities is considered crucial for character formation and empowerment of the students. The campus offers over 120 student run clubs and organisations offering range of interests, such as cultural, recreation, professional, social, service and many others. The Student Government Association, along with the Leadership Engagement and Development (LEAD) Program works to serve as the most active platforms for learning leadership and applying them for practical use. The students also enjoy Greek Life on campus. For bringing further engagement opportunities, there are various student activities held that open up opportunities for students to develop network outside in a friendly atmosphere; these are OctoberWest, Friday Fair, Career Industry Explo and others. There is also a Women’s and Diversity Center which is a mark of inclusivity present on campus. Students work together to provide empowerment to women and develop intercultural understanding with positive engagement and activities. At the campus, students also get involved in sports and intercollegiate athletics. The campus teams take part at NAIA, with the mascot ‘Ernie the Eagle’ and colors Blue and Gold.
The academic programs offered at Prescott campus are 24 bachelor’s degrees and two master’s degrees, and range of educational programs. The prominent facilities at this campus are King Engineering and Technology Center, Tracy Doryland Wind Tunnel Laboratory and Christine & Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Library and Learning Center.
