About Clover Park Technical College
CPTC is a technical training and education institute that was founded as simply a program of War Production Training, in the year 1941. It was formed following a need for professionals and workers for repairing and maintenance of military and ordinance equipment during WWII. With continuation of this program, Clover Park Vocational-Technical Institute was formed in 1942. The training institute further expanded, received grants and soon relocated.
Presently Clover Park Technical College has become a multi campus institute, based in Lakewood, Washington and a small campus in Puyallup, Washington. It embeds the values of commitment, excellence, and innovation into its programs and aims to create a quality workforce out of individuals.
A diverse campus life awaits at CPTC each one of the students that is introduced to the campus. To begin with, there is Student Center where the students find every resource and information to begin their journey. The Associated Student Government that works on the campus aims to further facilitate student experience on campus. This includes the Student council which works for raising student concerns and issues; Campus Activities Board works to bring activities of all sorts for students on the campus; and Peer Ambassadors work to support other students in their areas they lack and face problems with. For those interested there are also student led clubs and organisations that provide additional opportunities for engagement, building social relationships and learning skills. The training institute is among those which provide for work study programs, further adding to student experience as well as financial ease. There are also Career Center and Advising services which serve as extra supports for students in dealing with academic and career choices and decisions.
Academics at the institute consist of 56 degree programs and 56 certificate programs in a range of technical fields of study including business, trade, transportation, technology, science, engineering, health sciences and more. Its notable facilities are McGavick Conference Center and Rainier Room.
