    BC is a medical and healthcare school and a private institute that was founded as Deaconess Sanitarium Training School for Nurses in the year 1909 by Dr. Julius Bellin. Originally the vision for the school was to train nurses to work at the Deaconess Santarium and other Green Bay, Wisconsin hospitals. It later got into a partnership with Milwaukee Children’s Hospital but that didn’t last long as it got shut down due to lack of faculty.

    The college reopened in the year 2009, renamed as Bellin College and relocated to its present location in Bellevue, Wisconsin. With its programs incorporated with hands-on experience based learning, the college aims to produce experts and leaders in the field.

    Stritch is a Private university that was founded by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. It came to existence as it was chartered by the state of Wisconsin and began as St. Clare College. Its name change to Cardinal Stritch first happened in 1946 and it was given after former Archbishop of Milwaukee, Samuel Cardinal Stritch. It became co educational, completely in 1970 and by 1997 its university status received approval.

    It is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but also provides its course offerings in other locations as well in Milwaukee, Madison and Brookfield.     Carroll is a Private institute whose origin dates back to 1841 when Prairieville Academy was established. The academy was established by the early settlers in the area and who wanted educational opportunities for their people. By 1846 the academy was officially chartered by the Wisconsin Territorial Legislature and was made into Carroll College. Over the years, the college widened its academic base and hence by 2008 was transformed into a university.

    Based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the college is known as the state’s pioneer college, being the oldest higher education institute established in that area. The institute has also been affiliated with Presbyterian Church USA and so with a Christian rooted values at the foundation, it presses on its students to gain knowledge for leading and transforming local and global societies.

    Student life at Carroll is all about students connecting with each and their communities while on their educational journey.     CMN is a private and a tribal based community college that traces its origins to being founded in the year 1993 as it was established by the Menominee People as they chartered it. It began classes the same year however it wasn’t until the next year, in 1994 that it was authorized by the United States Congress. With the authorization it became one of the three land grant colleges in the state of Wisconsin. By 1998, the college was accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

    The college is one of the two tribal colleges in the region and is based in Keshena, Wisconsin. It operates another campus in Green Bay.     CUW is a private liberal arts college that was founded in the year 1881 by the Lutherans. It began as Concordia College and held its first classes in the basement of Trinity Lutheran Church, however within a year it found its permanent home. It altered its academic programs to offering high school and college programs after receiving charter from the State of Wisconsin. By 1978 it became a four year accredited college.

    Within a decade, in 1989 it was approved for university status by Board of Regents and so became Concordia University Wisconsin. Based in Mequon, Wisconsin, the institute is on the mission to provide Christian leaders through provision of education and development of mind and heart on the values of service and commitment to people and purpose in life.

    Edgewood is a private coeducational higher education institute that goes back to year 1894 when it opened as Sacred Heart Academy, and in the beginning of 20th century expanded into higher education by establishing a junior college for women, in 1927.  It was during 1940s that the college was granted the power to award degrees and became a four year educational programs and by 1670 became a coeducational institute.

    Herzing University is a nonprofit private higher educational institute. It was founded in 1965 by Henry and Suzanne Herzing as an institute for computer training in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Five years later, a company was established under the name of Herzing institute which expanded the activity of the institute by purchasing other schools. The name of the institute was changed in 1996 to Herzing College till it was changed again to Herzing University in 2009 after introduction of the graduate programs.     Lakeland University is higher education institute of liberal arts located west of Howards Grove, Wisconsin in the Town of Herman with mailing address in Plymouth. It was established in 1862 by the German Immigrant who came to North American because of the religious controversy in Europe. It was initially a combined academy-college seminary under the name of Mission House. It provided traditional seminary education that aimed at preparing all students to become ministers. By the end of the century, the college expanded its curriculum and acceptance was not limited to pre-theological students anymore. The college name was changed in 1956 to Lakeland before it was changed again in 1962 to United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities when it moved to Minneapolis/St. Paul. In 1991, a second campus was opened in Shinjuku, Tokyo and is known as Japan Campus. It is recognized by MEXT/Monkashō as a foreign college. It got its current name as Lakeland University in 2016 to indicate the expansion of its programs.

    Lakeland main campus offers several distinctive buildings and facilities as Bradley Fine Arts Building, Chase Science Center, Ambrose D. DeLand Child Care Center, Friedli Hall, Grosshuesch Hall, Hill House, Grether Natural Laboratory , Softball Field and Taylor Field.     Madison Media Institute is a private for-profit college for Media Arts. The institute was established in 1969 by Ray Szmanda as Trans-American School of Broadcasting.     Marquette University is a catholic private coeducational university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was established in 1881 by the Society of Jesus as a male only institute. It was initially named Marquette College in honor of Father Jacques Marquette. The college originally aimed at offering affordable Catholic education to the area’s emerging German immigrant population. Marquette achieved officially the university status in 1907 after moving to its current location changing its name to the current name. In the same year, Marquette University High School became an independent school rather than being the preparatory department of the university. The college started admitting female students two years later becoming the first coeducational institute. In 1913, the Marquette University established the Marquette University School of Medicine by purchasing the Wisconsin College of Physicians and Surgeons. Marquette University was the first institute to establish a degree program in hospital administration with the first class graduating in 1927. Due to financial difficulties, the School of Medicine separated from the university establishing the Medical College of Wisconsin. In 2006, the university completed its largest fundraising campaign collecting $357 million. In the following year, Marquette received the largest gift provided to a Wisconsin university at a value of $51 million from Raymond and Kathryn Eckstein.

    Marquette campus covers 93 acres with several distinctive buildings as Carpenter Tower, Clark Hall, Coughlin Hall, Cramer Hall, Cudahy Hall, Eckstein Hall, Haggerty Hall, Holthusen Hall, Johnston Hall, Krueger Child Care Center, Lalumiere Language Hall, O’Brien, Dr. E. J., Jesuit Residence and Schroeder Complex. The official colors of the university are Marquette blue and gold. In 1994, the university president took a controversial decision to change its mascot from “Warriors” due to growing pressure on schools to end the use of Native American mascots. The mascot “Golden Eagle” was chosen till it was changed briefly in 2005 to “the Gold” for just one week. The university athletic teams compete in the Big East Conference and NCAA Division I.

    Marquette is divided into 11 colleges including Helen Way Klingler College of Arts and Sciences and J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication.

    Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is a private higher education institute offering undergraduate and master’s programs. It was established as a school for male students in 1903 by Oscar Werwath and was named the School of Engineering. The school initially operated at the facilities of Rheude’s Business College for two years till moving to a new building with the support of Louis Allis. It relocated again in 1911 to the Stroh building. At this period the school succeeded in making sponsorship agreements with several local companies that allowed students to work during their studies to partially secure their tuition fees. In 1920, the college adopted the four quarter academic year allowing students to graduate within 3 years instead of 4 if they study during the summer semester. The school established a financial aid program to support students in need during the Great Depression. In 1932, the college got its current name following restructuring and charter revision that resulted in the establishment of Board of Regents. The newly established board decided to expand the college by purchasing The German-English Academy building. In 1935, the college established the Industrial Research Institute allowing more cooperation with the local industry. In 1944, the college decided to enroll female students to compensate for the decline of enrollment of male students as many of them participated in the World War II.

    MSOE campus consisted of a number of buildings distributed within eastern Milwaukee, Wisconsin covering around 22 acres. The Alumni Partnership Center which was formerly called the Valentin Blatz Brewing Company Office Building is the oldest building on campus as it was established in 1890 while the Kern Center is the newest and it was established in 2004. Other prominent buildings on campus include Allen Bradley Hall and its extension building; the Fred Loock Engineering Center, Rosenberg Hall and the Walter Schroeder Library. The campus also includes The Grohmann Museum which was formerly the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Moreover, it offers four residential halls including Roy W. Johnson Hall, Margaret Loock Residence Hall and Johnson Hall.

    Mount Mary University is a private non-profit Catholic higher education institute for liberal arts. It was established by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1913 making it the first female 4-years Catholic college to be established in Wisconsin. In 1926, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee proposed the relocation of the college to Milwaukee to allow more students to join the college. Construction of the new campus started in 1928 and it was opened in the following year. The name of the college was changed with the relocation to Mount Mary College. It achieved the university status in 2013 changing its name to the current one.

    The university states that its mission is support the development of the whole personality of the students. Its campus covers 80 acres with several prominent buildings including Notre Dame Hall and Caroline Hall which are the first buildings to be constructed on campus. Other important buildings include Fidelis Hall, Kostka Hall, Bergstrom Hall, Haggerty Library, Bloechl Recreation Center and Gerhardinger Center which is named in honor of Theresa Gerhardinger of Jesus. The university produces a newspaper called “Arches” which is run by the students. There are several artistic events organized at the university annually including CREO and the Starving Artists’ Show. It also hosts the Historic Costume Collection which includes 9000 pieces in addition to the Marian Art Gallery. The official colors of the university are blue and white. Its athletic teams, who are nicknamed Blue Angels, compete in NCAA Division III.

    The university offers more than 30 undergraduate programs in addition to 8 graduate programs. It grants bachelor, masters and doctoral degrees. The university has a partnership agreement with the Medical College of Wisconsin that allows students to earn bachelor and master’s degree in public health within 5 years.     UW–Green Bay is a public university which is part of the University of Wisconsin System.     UW–La Crosse is a four year higher education institute and a public university. It started as La Crosse State Normal School in the year 1909, with only two year programs for teachers’ education.     UW–Madison is a public research university that is part of the University of Wisconsin System.     UW Oshkosh is a state higher education institute which is part of the University of Wisconsin System. It had its beginning in 1871 when it was founded as the Oshkosh State Normal School and became the first in the entire state to have a kindergarten. It progressed into a teachers college, then a state college and finally as a university in 1964. It got its present name as it became part of the system in 1971.

    It is based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and has developed into a successful institute because of its commitment to growth of its students. It does not only educate them but provides them with healthy opportunities for development, leadership and professional success.

    At University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, the learning is not confined to classrooms only but is extended to every part of the student life. There are also athletic teams of the university which take part in various championships including NCAA Division III. Its teams are called ‘Titans’ and its official colors are Black and Gold.

    The academic programs at the university consist of 200 majors, minors and emphases, 15 graduate programs and two doctoral programs. Its notable facilities include Polk Library, Reeve Union, Swart Hall, Dempsey Hall and few more.

    University of Wisconsin-Parkside is a public university that is part of the University of Wisconsin System and was founded early on in the year 1965 through an act of legislature. In the year 1971 it became part of the University of Wisconsin System and never looked back on its progress as an institute for educational and academic development.

    It is based in Somers, Wisconsin and is also known as UW-Parkside.     UW-Platteville is a state university that was created in 1866 as a teacher preparation institute, and was called the Platteville Normal School. It gradually progressed, becoming a state teacher college and then a state college when it expanded its program offerings. It also transformed into Wisconsin Institute of Technology in 1939. It was in 1966 that it became a university.

    It soon became part of the University of Wisconsin, getting its present day name.     UW–Stout, an institute that is presently part of the University of Wisconsin System was founded by James Huff Stout a senator to the state, in the year 1891.     Alverno, presently an independent liberal arts college started in 1887 when it received its charter as the St. Joseph’s Normal School. Being founded by School Sisters of St. Francis, it was a Catholic institute from the beginning. It wasn’t until 1946 that it came to its present name. Since its start, the institute was intended to be women’s only and still remains to be one. It also remains to be associated with School Sisters of St. Francis, a Roman Catholic Church.

The College has an Early Learning Center, a non Profit aimed at development of children and open for public as well.  A ‘Community Day’  is held, in which students participate in activities such as interacting with children, cleaning, serving, raking etc on both off and on campus sites. The college has also launched its own ‘Civility Project’ based on former President, Barrack Obama’s initiative for interfaith harmony. There is also counseling and health services program on campus called ‘body+mind+spirit’. Keeping in line with a balanced lifestyle, athletics are also dominant at the campus. Alverno teams compete in NCAA Division III as ‘Inferno’.

    The college offers undergraduate programs with more than 60 majors and minors along with associate degree programs. Also offered are graduate programs; four Master’s degree programs are offered on the campus. The graduate programs are open for both men and women at the campus. Its distinctive school is The JoAnn McGrath School of Nursing.

    A point of pride of being the only institute in Wisconsin that is the oldest continuously operated in the region, Beloit College was established in 1846 with its charter accepted by the Territory of Wisconsin Legislature. It was founded by a group of seven New Englanders, who were called Friends of Education. With their idea for an educational institute, they involved the clergy as well as the public of the region with their vision and upon receiving funds from the citizens of these regions they proceeded on to develop a college.

    A four year, private liberal arts college, Carthage began 168 years ago, in 1847. It was founded by those of Lutheran members who were the pioneers in education. It received its charter in 1847 and hence was founded as The Literary and Theological Institute of the Lutheran Church in the Far West. It was based in Hillsboro, Illinois but changed locations and names several times during its entire period.

    It adopted its present name in the year 1870 and came to its present location in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1962 which marks its journey towards its growth as a higher education institute. The college with its focus on developing each student to their full potential by enabling knowledge acquisition and self development, has in recent years invested almost $200 million for becoming more technologically integrated and a progressive institute.

    Campus life at Carthage College consists of all those interesting activities and opportunities that enrich the experience of its students. It offers over 120 student clubs and organizations, ranging from academic to special inertest to honorary organizations to performance clubs.     CCON is an institute providing nursing education since its beginning in the year 1901. It was founded by Dr. Nathaniel A. Gray and Olive B. Knowlton, who was a nurse, as Knowlton Hospital and Training School. It offered three year education programs and by 1909 was taken over by Columbia Hospital Corporation. By 1983 baccalaureate programs were started being offered and with that the college also changed its name to the present name.

    Columbia College of Nursing is based in Glendale, Wisconsin and had the honor of having oldest three year education program in the entire state.     Lawrence University is a liberal arts institute and conservatory of music located in Appleton, Wisconsin. It was established in 1847 under the name of Lawrence Institute as the second coeducational institute to be established in the United States. The charter for the institute was issued in 1847 naming it “Lawrence Institute of Wisconsin” however; the name was changed to Lawrence University before classes began in 1849. In 1853, the main hall was established which is the oldest existing building on campus. “The Con” which refers to the Lawrence Conservatory of Music was established in 1874. In 2005, the university initiated a fund raising campaign which ended in 2011 by raising more than $160 million. Lawrence is member of the Oberlin Group, the Colleges That Change Lives and the Great Books Colleges.

    Lawrence campus covers 84 acres divided into two parts by Fox River. For example, the laser palace was built in the 1980s and currently contains 800 mW small lasers and more than 500 mirrors. The Richard and Margot Warch Campus Center is the entertainment and gathering center that was opened in 2009 and was LEED Gold Certified for meeting sustainability goals. Additionally, Lawrence University has a 425-acre northern estate called Björklunden that was donated to the university in 1963 by Donald and Winifred Boynton. This location is currently used for seminars, concerts, and theatrical performances. The official colors for the university are navy and white. Its athletic teams, who are nicknamed the Vikings, compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Division III.

    Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) is a private professional college offering academic programs in art and design. It was established in 1974 as a successor to the Layton School of Art by seven members of the former school. Layton school, in turn, was established in 1920 by Charlotte R. Partridge and Miriam Frink. It is currently the only four year higher education institute in Wisconsin offering 4-year programs in visual arts and design. It is member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design which includes 42 institutes of arts in Canada and US.

    Milwaukee institute states that its mission is to stimulate minds through art, design and service. Its campus consists of three buildings located in the Historic Third Ward of Milwaukee and overlooking the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan.     Northland College is a private liberal arts college offering environmental and sustainability studies. The college was established 1892 as the North Wisconsin Academy before being recognized as a college 14 years later. It was originally affiliated to the Congregational Church and still keeps some bonds to its descendant; the United Church of Christ. In 2008 – 2009, the college lost significant part of its endowment due to the stock market crash. It was then required by the Higher Learning Commission to file a financial recovery plan. It started in 2010 a fund raising campaign.

    The college states that its mission is to help students to face future challenges by integrating liberal arts with environmental studies. The college campus is located in Ashland, Wisconsin, a small city overlooking Lake Superior. It is a rural campus covering 220 acres with several distinctive buildings as Wheeler Hall which is the oldest building and the only one built for the North Wisconsin Academy. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is still considered as the campus centerpiece. It was renovated in 1993 and 1994. Other important buildings on campus include Ponzio Stadium, McLean Environmental Living and Learning Center, Mead Hall, Craig A. Ponzio Campus Center, Wakefield Hall and Mary Van Evera Visual Arts Center. The college library, which is located nearly at the campus center, is known as Dexter Library and is the first building to receive LEED Gold certification in Wisconsin. The college athletic teams, who are nicknamed LumberJacks and LumberJills, compete in the NCAA Division III as members of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. The official colors of the college are orange and blue.
