SAGU AIC started in 1957 as ‘Bible College’ by Alta Washburn. Washburn felt the need for ministry knowledge for the Native Americans and so founded the college. To this day, it continues to be the only college serving the Native Americans. Presently, it operates as a Private college based in Phoenix, Arizona and carries its affiliation with ‘Assemblies of God’. In 2016, the college has associated itself with the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) of Waxahachie, Texas and so officially has changed to SAGU AIC. It will serve as a campus to SAGU.

Present day Argosy University was established in 2001 and resulted from the merger of three different institutions into one. The American Schools of Professional Psychology started earliest in 1976 by a group of people coming from field of psychology and education and realizing the need for a learning and training center, University of Sarasota began in 1969 and the third, Medical Institute of Minnesota was founded in 1961 following the need for a professional medical education and training center. A Private yet a nonprofit university, ACU traces its roots to the Southwestern Conservative Baptist Bible College founded in 1960. The land for the newly founded college came from Ida Clouse, a Christian missionary and a nurse who bequeathed her 35 acre ranch upon her death for the purpose of creating a Christian college. From a bible college to a liberal arts Christian university, the university also transitioned towards becoming a non-denominational institute, ending its affiliation with Conservative Baptist Convention in 2009. It is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
The most characteristic part of Arizona Christian University is the spiritual life inducted at the campus. Connection with Christ is considered most important and hence chapel services and a minor in Biblical studies is mandatory for every student. ACU has dominant spiritual life, embedded in community services. Arizona State or ASU is a Public research university based in Phoenix, Arizona. It was when the act for establishing a normal school was passed by 13th Arizona Territorial Legislature in 1885 that the Territorial Normal School was founded. This was the beginning of what was to become ASU. It remained a teacher training institute for a long time and it was in 1958, after gradual progress that the university got its present name. Evolving through the years in its academic journey and serving the students, the university has grown into five campuses throughout the region.
Arizona State University has emerged as the university growing simultaneously with the community and people it serves. Grand Canyon University (GCU) is a private research-focused for-profit institute. The University was initially established in 1949 as a non-profit Christian institute by Arizona Southern Baptists under the name of Grand Canyon College. Establishment of the college aimed at allowing Baptists to obtain bachelor’s or master’s degrees at the college rather than having to travel to Texas or Oklahoma. The college was initially founded in Prescott but it moved after only two years to its current location at Phoenix, Arizona. In 2004, the college was sold because of financial difficulties to Significant Education, LLC. The college was then converted to a for-profit institute making it the first for-profit college in US. Northern Arizona University is a public research university with several campuses in Arizona State. The university was established in 1899 as the Northern Arizona Normal School. First class at the school consisted of 23 students who were taught by 2 faculty members, one of them was the school president. The school first graduation included 4 students who were recognized as teachers approved to work in Arizona. In 1925, the school which was then called Northern Arizona State Teachers College was recognized by the Arizona State Legislature as a bachelor granting institute. Four years later, the college changed its name to “Arizona State Teachers College at Flagstaff”. The college started offering graduate programs in 1937. Two years later, Arizona State awarded the first degree to a Hopi highlighting its ethnic tolerance and diverse student body. During the World War II, the college became a member of the Navy V-12 program with the student enrollment dropping sharply. The college expanded the range of offered programs changing its name in 1945 to Arizona State College at Flagstaff before its name was changed again in 1958 to Arizona State College. Prescott College is a private liberal arts college located in Prescott, Arizona. The college was established in 1965 by the Ford Foundation who gathered a group of educators from around the United States. The college was originally built on a 200-acre campus located outside Prescott. The college went bankrupt because of poor financial status and loss of donations. In response to this situation, faculty and students worked together to establish the Prescott Center for Alternative Education and the college became known since then as “The College That Wouldn’t Die”. Classes were held in 1975 in the basement of the historic Hassayampa Hotel in downtown Prescott in addition to the homes of students and faculty. Afterwards, the college started acquiring the buildings of the current campus as well as acquiring the legal rights to use the name Prescott College. In 2012, the college completed $7.4 million sustainable housing project known as the Village. It is a LEED platinum facility. In the following year, the college rented one of the Village buildings to Embry-Riddle University. In 2016, the college acquired the Frantz Fanon Community Strategy Center through a student-led initiative.
The college states that its mission is to educate students from various backgrounds to understand, thrive in, and enhance the world community and environment. Prominent buidlings on campus include Garvey Welcome Center, Manzanita, Ponderosa, Crossroads Center South and North, and Prickly Pear. The college has a mountain biking team which is registered with USA cycling.

UA is a public research higher education institute which traces its beginning to when it was chartered as a university by the legislature in the year 1885. It was founded under the Morrill Land-Grant Act of 1862. With the site for the institute selected, it initially began as a normal school. It eventually made progress in its academic offerings while also expanding its physical outreach.

Student life at UA is diverse and consists of extracurricular activities that help students in grow in more than a single field. UA South is a public higher education institute that traces its roots to the Thirteenth Territorial Legislature passed in year 1885 that set aside money for establishment of a university in the region. With land for the institute secured, the first classes were held in the year 1891. Gradually improving its programs, by 1970s the institute only offered upper division and graduate programs.
It was in 1995 that the campus was officially made into a university and by 1999 was renamed as University of Arizona-South. It is based in Sierra Vista, Arizona and offers education which is technologically integrated, focused on innovation and which is affordable as well accessible through its campuses in Santa Cruz, Pima, Yuma and Pinal Counties and online education.
Students find a number of opportunities at the campus of UA South. Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, Taliesin, is a specialized school offering Master of Architecture degree. It is located in Scottsdale, Arizona in a location that was the winter home of Frank Lloyd Wright and school in the desert since 1937. Wright bought this 620 acres land in 1937 at a price of 3.5$ an acre, however, investment in this desert place was at very high cost that digging a well for water supply cost more than 10,000 $. The first class at the school started in 1932 with a group of 23 apprentices
The design of the campus shows very strong passion towards the desert with its walls and structures made of rocks from the surrounding environment avoiding as much as possible materials that need to be transported to the site from outside. The campus also makes use of natural light to the maximum possible degree. All of the building in Wright’s complex were built by students of the architecture school and were designed in the drafting room at Taliesin West. The campus is also the home for The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. It was recognized in the early 1980s as a National Historic Landmark.
Students studying spend the winter at the main campus in Scottsdale while they spend the summer in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Students remain as full time residence in both campuses to get involved in life with their surrounding architecture and environment. They are also offered the option to live in experimental desert shelters during their whole residence or part of it.
